This medicine may pull the HIV virus hide out deep in the body and destroy them in the blood vessels.

Recently, a team of UC Davis Medical University (USA) has announced a new discovery in the journal PLoS Pathogens, which emphasized HIV virus can be eradicated in the human body through a kind anticancer drugs.

HIV treatments are most effective current antiretroviral therapy (ART), however, this method can only kill the HIV virus in the blood vessels which can not touch the "HIV drives" inside may.

These drugs are not currently exposed to the HIV virus kills hiding deep in the body

The danger of the "HIV drives" are shown in the case of a girl in Mississippi, USA. Since birth, she has been the use of anti-retrovirals. Although 2 years after using the drug, she is confirmed negative for HIV tests, but this deadly virus remains latent in the body tissues of her but not destroyed completely.

The strategy of "eradicating" the scientists recently released is regarded as the key to treating HIV, it is using a drug to awaken the HIV virus still hiding in the body, and when they enter in blood sugar, other drugs will destroy them.

Drugs that researchers at UC Davis Medical University used is PEP005, one of the main ingredients in the therapy of skin cancer. They tested the drug on cells cultured in the laboratory and on the part of immune cells taken from 13 patients with HIV.

Results showed PEP005 "highly qualified HIV virus reactivation of refuge", and drugs are considered factors pioneer in the fight against HIV now.

Dr. Satya Dandekar, who participated in the study group, said: "We were very excited when identified a prominent candidate for the reactivation and destroy the HIV virus, especially when the drug was approved and licensed for use on patients. "

However, to date, the drug has not been tested on HIV-positive patients, and the researchers hope it will soon be put into clinical trials.

Professor Sharon Lewin of the University of Melbourne said the results were "very exciting" and marked "an important step in finding new methods could eradicate HIV hiding in the body".

Ms. Lewin said: "This study has found a medication line can eliminate HIV virus localized in the body long term, although much remains to be done to verify its capabilities on the body the patient".

This professor explained: "Although the drug PEP005 was FDA approved, however the scientists must prove that it is safe when used in patients with HIV infection, and this will take quite many times ".
